Since so many of our products contain goat's milk, we often get asked if we raise our own goats. The answer is yes! We have a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats. These mini milkers are great as milk or show goats and as family pets. Their small size, great colors and fabulous personalities make them perfect for families wanting to be self sufficient and provide their families with fresh milk or as pets. Goats milk is delicious and makes excellent cheese, ice cream, fudge or just about anything else. Come and meet the girls in our herd.

Abby This is Ivywood's Triple Play Abagail, or Abby for short. She was the first of Sophie's triplets to be born, and has stunning blue eyes. She is gentle and sweet and we have retained her in our herd. She loves sitting on her chair and has started giving us kisses!
Jazz Our newest addition to the herd is Jazz. She is half La Mancha and half Nigerian Dwarf. She is 4 years old and kidded with quadruplets this past spring. She has adjusted to her new home nicely and is providing us with lots of wonderful milk. People love her little elf ears!
Roxy Roxy is the smallest of our Nigerian Dwarfs, but she is the biggest character. She is always trying to stir things up within the herd. When she isn't bothering the other girls, she is talking very loudly to us! You just gotta love her.
Laci The most lovable goat we know. She loves to stand and have her chin, head and ears rubbed.
Madeline The alpha doe of the herd. Bosses everyone else around and will let you know when you can scratch her back!
We love our girls and they are all given much love and affection every day. Their favorite treat are raisins and oatmeal, along with the occasional oak leaf. These treats will bring them running, no matter what they are doing!
Available Goats Even though my daughter Emily would love to keep each and every goat that gets born, it just isn't possible and each year we must sell some goats in order to keep others. We sell each year's babies when they are 6 to 8 weeks old. We occasionally have an adult goat for sale as well. If you would like to purchase a new born goat and hand raise it yourself, we would be happy to work with you on that. Babies can be pulled and bottle fed, but we need to know in advance as we let all of our babies nurse off of their mothers. All goats must be picked up in Idyllwild, CA, we will not ship them. Our does currently sell for $100 and wethers are $25 or free with the purchase of a doe. We require a deposit of $50 to reserve the doe kid of your choice. You may reserve a kid prior to it being born. If the delivery results in unsuitable kids, your deposit will be refunded. Remember, we cannot predict what type of kids our does will have or what they will look like. Please feel free to email us with your questions, for more information, or if you would like to reserve a kid. We love to talk about our goats!
WE HAVE BABIES! We have bred Madeline, Roxy and Abby. Madeline kidded on Sept. 3rd, Labor Day, with boy/girl twins. Everyone is doing great. Next Roxy kidded on Oct. 4th with triplets! Quite the surprise. She had two girls and one boy. Then 4 days later on Oct. 8th Abby kidded for the first time with boy/girl twins. We will be retaining the doe kid for our herd.
We do not show our goats, even though they are show quality. This allows us to keep our prices reasonable, while providing excellent goats for show, milk or pets. This years kids have all been spoken for so please check back in next spring!
